Professional Goal: I will read 2 YA novels a month in order to support my students in their SSR goals by making more informed recommendations so that students will have support in text selection.

Based on my SSR data, I noticed an increase in the number of books read per student population in the Spring vs. the Fall. I also noticed an increase in the percentage of books recommended by me to students when comparing Spring to Fall. I think this data shows my investment in reading to the students, and in turn I was able to increase the amount of reading occuring second semester.

Student Progress Goal: I will give specific feedback (written and conference based) to provide students with the skills they need to improve their writing.

I have looked at my students' first round of analysis. As a result of my findings, I retaught how to analyze. I have also conferenced individually with each child regarding his/her work and provided annotated feedback on their text. There is marked progression in their second attempts.
